Logiq Awarded MoD Secure by Design Contract

Bristol, UK – 12 November 2024 – Logiq, a leading UK information and cyber security consultancy has announced it has successfully secured the contract as the Secure by Design (SbD) implementation partner with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) Cyber Resilience Programme (CRP) for the next 12 months.

This contract award allows for a continuation of the work undertaken by the growing South-West based SME, over the last two-and-a-half years—supporting the MoD with the formation and launch of the Secure by Design programme and its associated products, including digital tools.

As part of the contract award and to meet the evolving requirements, Logiq have partnered with Deloitte, the UK’s largest consultancy. Boasting extensive experience with large-scale digital transformation projects in the public sector, Deloitte bolster Logiq’s hands-on experience of the Secure by Design programme with an experienced team and capabilities including process design, business change, and cyber security.

Launched by the MoD in Q3 2023 to much fanfare and hotly debated throughout industry for its radical approach, the Secure by Design initiative has now been widely adopted by the Central Digital and Data Office (CDDO) and other government departments. Delivering a pioneering shift from traditional accreditation to integrated and proactive continual security risk management, SbD ensures that information and digital capabilities are secure, trustworthy and resilient to cyber-attack. 

Thousands of these vital digital capabilities exist, particularly in defence and range from office systems and infrastructure to IT systems onboard equipment and weapons. All of them carrying value which must be protected through-life. Secure by Design is one of the most critical elements of the MoD’s Cyber Transformation Strategy and has been endorsed by UK Government Ministers and leaders across Defence.

Heavily involved from the early stages of the programme and many months prior to launch, Logiq helped to develop the MoD’s Secure by Design portal, an online platform providing delivery teams and industry with key information to help them manage their cyber security risks more effectively.

In addition, Logiq have helped to create and develop the Cyber Activity and Assurance Tracker (CAAT) tool which helps project teams identify gaps in a programme that could result in cyber risk, subsequently identifying outcomes that they need to achieve and allowing them to track the progress of these outcomes.
