Following the methodologies set out by ISO 14064-1, Logiq proudly announces the successful completion of our GHG emissions quantification and our dedication to sustainability through the formulation of a robust Carbon Reduction Plan (CRP).
Aims
In collaboration with Carbonology®, we’ve implemented methodologies aligned with ISO 14064-1 to accurately quantify our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This initiative underscores our commitment to reducing our environmental footprint and contributing to a more sustainable future. The second time quantifying GHG emissions; our primary objective was to align our emissions quantification with ISO 14064-1, ensuring comprehensive and standardised reporting. We successfully quantified 100% of our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, while expanding our reporting scope to include various Scope 3 sources, notably incorporating detailed data on business travel emissions such as air and hotel for the first time. This milestone not only enhances our understanding of our environmental impact but also paves the way for setting quantitative emissions reduction targets, guiding our path towards a sustainable future and our commitment to contributing to global climate action.
Solutions
After establishing our aims, we initiated data collection activities. This involved gathering meter readings for electricity, gas, and water consumption. Additionally, we utilised a staff survey to collect data required for calculating emissions from staff commuting and remote working. The collected activity data were then entered into an Excel-based Emissions Monitoring System (EMS), which utilised DEFRA conversion factors to quantify GHG emissions accurately. This EMS not only acts as a storage space for our emissions data but also enables us to monitor our progress consistently over time. Through collaboration with Carbonology®, we created a transparent Net Zero pathway, incorporating a variety of reduction targets and actionable initiatives. This pathway is important in guiding us towards our goal of achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050, ensuring we remain on course and accountable for our sustainability commitments.
Next Steps
Moving ahead, our strategy involves annual quantification of GHG emissions and subsequent updates to our Carbon Reduction Plan. This reflects our ongoing commitment to transparent emissions reporting. Additionally, we are keen to initiate the implementation of our planned carbon reduction measures and explore new opportunities for further initiatives.
